Scary Movie 5 OST

I suspect this soundtrack is a good reflection of the film which I haven’t seen; pretty much what you would expect, mostly disappointing with a few gems to redeem it (actually I reckon it might be better than the film…).

Made up mostly of generic dance mixes, modern RnB, baffling rap, grime and lingering “soul” songs with lyrics such as “girl, I wanna frig/love/sex wid you…” or whatever, this is a great example of all that is wrong in modern music today.

Way Out Willie by Dug sounds like a rip off of the classic Benny Hill chases girls in bikinis music and no doubt was used in some funny montage sequence and I Want Her (Blind Truth featuring Georgia Harris) sounds like a rip off of Katy Perry’s I kissed a girl; the soundtrack continuing the theme or parody that the films adhere to. 2 pieces of classical music have found their way in here, Lakme (Flower Duet) and Swan Lake (Waltz Of Flowers), they are popular classics but make a nice break for your ears.

Somewhere In This World by Pete Peterkin is a homage to Louis Armstrong and it is the best track on this album with a Beastie-Boys-esque Ready For War by MicLordz & Sauce Funky a close runner up.

If you like crap chart music you might find something in here worthwhile, otherwise don’t bother.
